Manifesting is the practice of thinking aspirational thoughts with the purpose of making them real. Now, thinking positive thoughts in and of itself is not going to make your dream come true, is it?

That’s why I love one of the definitions of manifesting from Oxford languages “be evidence of; prove”. So, not only do we need to think about these aspirational thoughts, but we need to take action towards making them reality.

Now I’m a strong believer of manifestation and mindset work as well. That our thoughts can shape our actions and outcomes. But this alone won’t help you make your goals a reality. At some point we need to move from our head into action. Here’s some ideas on how to move from manifesting to reality:

Brainstorm all the ways you can reach your money goal

To support your manifesting, let’s get practical for a moment. What are all the ways that you could reach your goal? Don’t judge your answers, just write them down.

If it’s a revenue goal, you could consider things like:

  • Increasing your prices
  • Introducing new services or packages
  • Using paid marketing options
  • Take a part time job
  • Unsubscribing from an IT platform you don’t utilise
  • Get a coach for accountability

Pros and Cons

Grab a sheet of paper and divide it down the middle. For each possible solution that you came up with in the previous step, what are the costs and what are the benefits? When you’re thinking about costs, make sure that you include your time as a cost!

As an example, using paid marketing options to increase your revenue, the costs would be:

  • Agency fees to manage
  • Budget for the ads
  • Time to invest in setting up the ads with the agency

The benefits would be:

  • Time saved in having to work out how to set up the ads for maximum return
  • Greater reach for your offer – introduction to a new audience
  • More sales

Decision time

Once you’ve gone through this process with all of your possible solutions, it’s time to make a decision. It should be fairly obvious which solution to choose as the benefits will far outweigh the costs AND it’ll feel good (which means that it’s in line with your values, and that’s a good thing).

Where the rubber hits the road

Now you’ve done some practical thinking to support your manifesting, let’s give it the best shot of making it into reality.

Break down your solution into bit sized pieces and pop a task in your calendar or project management system each day or week. So, if you’ve chosen to go with paid marketing to meet your revenue goal, then perhaps your tasks would be:

  • Research 3 Facebook Ads agencies
  • Get 2 recommendations from friends
  • Book 3 discovery calls
  • Write out success criteria for the agency
  • Put new expense into cashflow budget
  • Book time in calendar to review ads

Manifesting your money goal is a great foundation to achieving it as it connects you to the vision of what the outcome will be like, yet thinking alone won’t achieve your goals. Action is the key to bringing it to fruition.
