I acknowledge the many aspects of safety. Today I’m focusing on one.

A few weeks ago my children were on school holidays, our puppy isn’t well, WE MOVED.

But do you know what is constantly on my mind?

M O N E Y

: School holidays cost money (despite best efforts).

: Pets cost money.

: Moving costs money.

T H E   A N T I D O T E?  I N C O M E.

I was watching so much money fly out the door and no amount of budgeting or cutting expenses was helping.

So here is what I am doing.

(These are general in nature and not new. However, I am highlighting them here because sometimes things you ruled out years ago should be reconsidered.)

1. Adding a low cost offer into the mix

I have added a specific income generator consult to my income mix. But I am also planning a money-a-thon where we go through our financial reports to find opportunities and an income challenge where we work through ideas and put them into action.

Projected income: $500 pm

2. Sell stuff we already have

In the past I’ve felt the little income is not worth the headache, but now? I’d love anything extra to take the kids on an epic day trip (or to pay for our darling dog’s vet bills). To make thnngs even easier, I’m thinking of giving Cash Converters another go rather than the pain of online to-ing and fro-ing.

Projected income: $500 (once off)

3. Make stuff to sell

In the past I have grown herb seedlings which sold in an instant. Now i’m wondering about making attractive pots, too and I am pretty keen to try furniture upcycling too.

Projected income: $100 – 500 pm

4. Online surveys

I know one of you, dear readers, does this. I am keen to finally check this out and even more keen for an excuse to stop scrolling.

Projected income: $70 each (?)

5. Get a part time job

I am also actively looking for work. I’ve said it before:  part time work is GOLD for regular income, reduced stress, and getting amongst people. (Something us business owners don’t do as often as employees). A subset is I am looking at perhaps adding something like dog sitting or Airtasker-type stuff too.

Projected income: $1,500 pm

I am as ever energised by the options and can’t wait to try a few and see what sticks.

I’d love to hear what you try or any other ideas you have.

Also if you would like to hear more about the income challenge or money-a-thon let me know.

Remember we can’t control the economy, but we can control what we do about it.

Have a fabulous week,

Eliza xo
